How Is This Done

  1. Good morning Chaps (Well it is 12.40pm here in South Australia) :D

Its the resto on the 76 Kombi and down to the air intake grills and sanding down
the existing paint prior to the primer coats.
What is your tool / hot tip  to sand down the existing space behind the grill vents .
Not much room to even get the the sandpaper in there to be able to rub down the surface.

And sorry no Air Fares to bring you over the pond to show me how

    Cheers

    Ray

  2. I had the same problem and had some bad welding with rust going on as well. I'll see if I can find the thread I made about it. But in the end I think I used a mix of a small wire brush on an extension that went on a drill, and sandpaper taped onto a piece of wood. It wasn't great as you don't have much room to manoeuver, but it was ok.

Are you painting the outside of the bus as well? As you will get paint on it no matter how careful you're being!
