No I didn’t do lorry drivers , not after the Yorkshire ripper

 

Used to hitchhike loads as a lad in Sweatysockland.
Oddest one was trying to get home from college one night, two of us got picked up by this bearded dude in a brown suit driving a brown saloon car, no talking, just listening to *****ing Tanita Tikarim tape. God that was a depressin journey. Should of walked the 30 miles.

Last time i did was earlier in the year in ireland. Two very drenched young ladies..... yes i was with the mrs before you ask!

 

Maybe it was you what picked us up. You certainly look old enough!

 

We did the same. They were heading for Dover to ultimately get to a rally point in S Germany. Was around midnight st a petrol station outside London , two girls and a lad - they’d started at 6am from Sheffield uni and were whey-faced, cold and tired.
We picked them up and took them home, fed ‘em and put them up for the night. Then drive them the few miles to the ferry port after brekky and showers. It was near Easter and I hid a tiny Lindt bunny in each of their backpacks just for fun and because I’m a Mum.
They were practically lynched by their mates who’d spent a sleepless night on the concrete floor of the terminal.
We got the award for the best hitch of the Big Hitch of 2016 Yaaay!

A mini bus full of us coming back from a gig in the 80s - picked a girl up at Leicester forest east services ...
We had no spare seats left so being chilvalrous young men - we let her sit on the floor..

Reason being at some point in the journey we’d got out for a pee and one of us had trodden in dog shat and walked it all over the floor of the mini bus ———- we thought it was funny back then ....













I still do now
