Hitchhiking - did/do you ever hitch? Or pick up hitchhikers?

I see quite a few, if I'm going in that direction, then why not..

I think with bla bla car it cuts down on a lot

The word hitch hiker always reminds me of a visit to the cinema.
I cannot remember the main film but i only went because someone told me that the support film was one of a short queen concert . This was around 1979
The concert was indeed shown , then a series of short public information films were shown , one of a man about my age ,stopping to pick up two "dolly bird " hitchhikers , who got into rear of his car , when car was pulled up in a quiet location the girls each got out a knife , learned forward and stabbed the driver to death. The theater was in complete shock
A very surreal video compared to what had come before ., Needless to say i have never picked up a hitchhiker ,dont think i ever will. Wonder if the video can be tracked down ?

 

Used to hitch home from the army all the time, I was hitching back from Brize with me mate and got picked up by a complete nutter, he ran into the back of another car, while they were exchanging details I noticed that the passenger in the other car was wearing full on ballerina kit, I went to speak with her about it and ended going out with her for years !!
