High revs

  1. Hi
I rebushed my pict 34 carb with brass bushes off eBay as I had a leak from the spindles
All running well except the throttle arm ( if that's the term) doesn't close off fully with the spring
Ie if you open the throttle it stays open slightly and revs a little higher
I can push the arm in and the revs drop
Any ideas as to what's stopping the arm going back?
    Thanks
    Al

  2. might have the accelerator cable too tight, try releasing the cable from the throttle arm and see if the revs die back down, if so then refit your cable but don't pull it so tight (don't push it deep into the fixing).

  3. Thanks body rock
I'll try that in the morning

Do you think slightly higher revs wll cause any damage?

Hope there's no neighbour hassles tonight
    Al

  4. higher idle won't cause any damage, in [glow=red,2,300]FACT[/glow] it keeps the temperature down and oil pressure up, but it will guzzle up more fuel in the long run, and the hi rev noise is annoying.

edit: speaking of annoying, this glowing fact thing... is well, yes.

  5. Thanks Sven
I'm on tapatalk here so no annoying glowing thing here
