ive had a problem with my high beam for a couple of year it comes on ok but it takes loads of flicking the stork to turn it of eventually it wouldnt turn off at all so ive bought a new stork but nothing happened , so i thought maybe ive burnt out the relay bought a new relay and fitted but all me lights now come on without being switched on so i thought it may be a bad relay swopped it over but its still the same lights on when not switched on, put old relay back in and lights work ok now apart from high beam still being stuck on can anybody please help me ,any help much apprectiated
I would go back to basics - get a wiring diagram and follow it - might be an earth that is shorting near the headlamp bulbs somehow?
Hello stan would a bad earth put the light on with the new relay thou will check the earths now thankyou
ive just read on another forum that its more than likely a relay fault {something to do with it being a american relay and they dont use high beam like we do} i did swop it thou and its the same problem will see if i can find a original relay from somewhere
it's the relay i'll bet my balls on it. prise the relay open and wd40 it - I have the battle for every mot......
hello rickyroo1 ive opened it up and used wd but still no good it does look like there is a tiny bit of burning inside the unit so i may have burnt it out somehow the new stork ive installed doesnt seam to make any noise when i pull it up should it lock in place when i pull it ????
this is what ive found else where it may help others if the lights are staying on then it is either the S terminal has got an earth from somewhere and holding the headlamp flasher on, or the relay is for the USA market which don't have headlamp flashers and the headlamp flasher power supply is connected through the relay to the headlamp output.
