I've been on the forum for over 12months but never introduced my self (how rude)
I'm rob from Redditch (midlands)
I work for British gas and own an 68 early panel, I'm a member on the earlybay as well but spend and enjoy my time here.

Had some great useful advice from this forum over the last 12months and can say I visit everyday,

Well jealous of your panel van

 

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

It may not be everyone's cup of tea. But I love the history of this van.

Orignally bought brand new from leesville VW in the December of 68 and was sign written with the company's logo the same day.

And it spent its life delivering laundry across the state.
So what you see is original from new the only thing is has had is a clear coat of lacquer to preserve what is already there.

I may do a little thread on the history and how it came to be here.

There are vans and there are vans, personally I have always loved em and always will but it wasn't until I bought mine that there were so many variants & models except the obvious of course and so I continue to love em whatever an owner does or doesn't do to them I love em all, you rarely see two exactly the same, even the stock originals will have something hanging or stuck in the window to add that personal touch of its current and previous custodians!
