Hello peeps I'm new on here but been knocking about with VW campers for a bout 6 years now, based in Abingdon. I've got '78 Tintop microbus/camper with 1835 engine and Long ratio box, It was a total rotter when i got her but now solid (changed about 160Kgs of metal!), main reason i went for her was the lack of anything origional on it meaning i could do what i wanted without ruining a good classic example! I'm a techie type so I've done all of my own work/paint/engine/gearbox, except the engine machineing as i dont have a Mill/lathe, . The wife and i use the van alot for actually living in, i average about a month a year in it as i do several weekends a year and also a couple of weeks touring, so its fairly practical, but it also does a 20.05s standing quarter, which is nice > Ta.
