Www.uraltkaefer.de I know its over a year ago but is anyone else planning on going? There's usually an open day at BBT in Belgium on the Thursday before and a cruise to the show on the Friday.
Did you do Dover-Dunkirk or Calais or go via the tunnel? Gonna be the first time abroad in my camper so probably head to Wolfsburg afterwards then down towards Frankfurt before heading back up the Rhine or Moselle valley.
I'm planning on going. Excellent show with the added bonus of the Grundmann's museum choc full of rare stuff that you won't see anywhere else. There is also a dedicated Bay window museum on the edge of town in an old sugar factory. I've always flown - there is a direct train from Hannover airport to Hamlin then change for HO. My own view on the convoy (and granted that I haven't been on it) is that it arrives late afternoon on the Friday and most people look tired out and just want to hit the sack. This means they have missed out on most of the first day. If you've got the time why not plan to arrive on the Thursday so that you are in-situ and ready to go for it on Friday am. True i haven't had a passport in about 15 years but times are a changin'. Plus if i don't organise something then the inlaws will bugger off for a month or something during the show season.
Looks like this is a go for next year now. Missus was born just 10 miles from HO in Rinteln so she wants to go and see the place.
