heavy breather

hi all,

does any one know where I can get the large breather pipe for an early sytle tank?

as well as the little 7mm breathers either side of the tank (which I've replaced) I have a large breather (11mm internal diameter) which comes out of the top centre of the tank nearest the fire wall.

It then goes into a small elbow rubber (which I've bought) connects to a metal tube, then connects to another rubber hose which has a 90 degree bend on one end....and straight on the other end about 20cm long? - its this long bit with the bend at the end I cant find on any of the parts suppliers

I believe it is to relieve air from the tank as you are filling up......and as I have replaced everything else I want to do this one as well

should I just buy some 11mm hose or can you get this bit from anywhere

any help appreciated

....I might have one as my tank seems to be early.

My "middle" breather has just been blocked off at one end. Which bit on this diagram are you after?

 

I have some left over for the fuel breather no 24 on the drw. - I went to my local auto parts and got some rubber fuel line - they had loads of different inner diameters - if you are having issues let me know what the inner dia is and I will find out if they have some – also if you want some for the breathers (no 24) I will send you a bit.

I've replaced all the small breathers (item No.24) that was no problem - except the VW suppliers all state 7mm internal diameter, I found this a little too loose for my liking so I sourced some unleaded fuel hose with 6.3mm diameter locally which was a nice tight fit

the item I think I need is item 17, although on VWHeritage site (shown as iten 24 on their drawing) it shows this as 7mm hose which is not correct - it should be 11mm diameter

I was hoping to get a part with the bend moulded into it, but it looks like I may just have to use a length of hose and make it fit
