Heated front seats

  1. This may sound stupid but is it possible to wire in heated and electric adjusted seats ?
I'm want to but some in the van as heating is not something I've got and will only be running little heaters for the windows ( hopefully ) so I'm thinking heated seats but not sure if it can all be wired in ,I'm sure it can but thought I'd ask

  2. If you've got the wiring diagram for the seats, you can wire it in.

For seats like later Saabs, you may need stuff like thermostats/switches that came with the original car.

  3. It's Saab seats I'm looking at now , can get the switches with some of them and may be able to get the other stuff , do that have stats on as well ?

  4. Have just found some heater elements that can be retro fitted in to any seat with all wiring and buttons , not a bad idea

  5. Are they the German ones? They look good.

  6. Not sure there carbon fibre, and can get 4 plus all wires and switches for 60 pounds which ain't bad at all ,I know I'll,have to fit them my weld but it's not a bad idea

  7. Do you have a link please.

  8. eBay item number 180921556996 this one has different switches but you can get one switch that controls both seats but it looks bait big and would not suit the van I don't think ,these small rocker switches would go nicely in the ends of the dash

  9.
  10. Th once I was looking at were in the seats I think , I've go heated seats in are jeep and they work great just thought I will be a nice touch in the van

  11. Disagree. Freezing your nads off is part of the bus experience. But if going for it check power consumption of the element.... If on a switch, have a set of jump leads in the bus.

  12. Nice work Andy they look Great ,
I understand we're your coming from with heated seats but that's only form of heat ill have by the looks of it and it will still be cold in there but I'm also on to another idea :) I will check the power of these to like you say could make a very flat batterie .
The rear bench seat that turns into a bed to sleep on may get very cold while wild camping or on site camping in all weathers so I'm thinking heaters in there too mite make the wife even want to come camping with me lol the rear seat will run of the leisure batterie not the main one so if I am on a 240 v hook up site it would be fine .
I'm not trying to make my van all modem it's still a old vw but will it have the little touches that most won't even see
