Hi, I just cleaned up the heater and hmm..not quite sure what to do now.. There is a few rust holes here and there but in my opinion nothing major..anyway I was wondering what you would suggest in this matter trying to weld it up or just leave it as is?.. (here's the pic) Also what to paint it with? Do you know any rust/temp proof paint I could do it with? Will be appreciate for any sugestions
for my own recently i had pretty much the same prob. i removed them , done a big clean , "dum dum paste (ed) them then fitted on each ,an exhaust bandage then, dum dum(ed) them over the bandage and then , once the paste was set , stove painted over same , several times, it did work out fine , total cost re stuff purchased, ? approx £20>hope this helps
To be honest been thinking about doing the same.. But where should I be looking for a stove paint? Btw it helps thx

that's a T4 HX and yo have to clamp the riser pipe to it. This is difficult and frustrating even with a new one! I'd find some pipe that will fit in the riser and weld an inch to you hx, then gum-gum up the holes if any. T1 exchangers are more forgiving as the plastic concertina pipe pushes on easily with no clamp really needed.
Thank you guys.. I didnt think about a piece of pipe to be welded in if Im honest and thats a great idea thx zed.. Will only need to find a proper one to fit a riser as you said the only problem may be welding as the metal is v thin in that area but worth trying anyway
