I don’t normally get it, my son Ed is really suffering with it this year and it’s getting him down. I’m getting it too. For all you sufferers of it, what do you do to relieve it? local honey seems to be the response I get, as you are eating honey from the local pollen, I’ve tried, as a neighbour keeps bees and we got some from him, but it dosnt seem to be working. Any advice?
antihistamine as product names Cetirizin, Lorano, ... help me over the spring time. Or 3 years of injections in winter for hyposensitization - but then only lasts about 10 years and then you have to repeat it - I tried 3 times, hated it and didn't solved all. There are supposedly a lot of home remedies and behaviors to reduce it - none really helped me. Tried many things for half a century... It is best to escape to the sea, high in the mountains or in the desert in time Good luck,
Any el cheapo antihistamine from the supermarket will take the edge off. Does for me and the boy anyway.
Yes, we had some, but they don’t seem to be as effective as normal. Maybe, with evolution of the weather, and the way things are growing now, the problem is intensifying. Like I mentioned, I don’t normally get hay fever, but this year seems exceptional.
check out if there are some invasive species around as the extrem ragweed "Ambrosia artemisiifolia" (from North America). can trigger severe allergies in sensitive people. In Germany and the EU, attempts are being made to combat this. GB after Brexit???
Mine has been particularly bad the last few weeks. I’ve been using the Sainsbury’s tablets (cetirizine). I can’t take Loratadine sends me to sleep ! I also have a nasal spray from the Dr. called Avamys. Wear tight fitting sunglasses, and avoid been outside before dusk, when the dew point comes as all the pollen in the atmosphere comes down to earth, couldn’t stop sneezing the other night in the local beer garden…
I’ve had a bit of a more severe year this season too. My doctor has stopped me using or getting loratadine on prescription which is great. I’ve been buying loratadine from Asda for £2 for a fortnight’s supply and I’m getting better results from it if I take one with my evening meal and one with my breakfast. Didn’t realise it could make me extra sleepy and just thought I was a tad flagged out with the warmth of the recent days, so that may explain a few things Ozziedog,,,,,,,,, Stellas pretty good too
I've been getting it from Birch pollen in the spring for the past few years. Terrible but at least the grass doesn't get me.
You aren't supposed to eat it, you are supposed to smear it all over yourself and run naked through a nettle patch. That's what our local Tory MP told me, and as he likes to crash cars drunk at night dressed as a woman, then run off, I have no reason at all to doubt him.
For honey to be effective you need to take it all year round, not only on hayfever season. Best remedy.... The sea air.
