  1. 1) that you have been sent used parts instead of new? - Just happened to me (more to follow after they have had a chance to call me back to explain

    2) that you have had to wait so long that you have changed your mind? - Again just happened to me.

I have bought used parts before but knowingly - its never happened when the parts where supposed to be new!

We did buy a genuine VW steering coupling rubber only to find they sent the cheaper reproduction item instead - a swift phone call soon had it sorted...picked by accident, yes I REALLY do believe you >:D

  3. Exactly. Now people make mistakes which is fair enough but when they try to pull a fast one it really ticks me off. In this particular case I ordered parts (from stock) at the beginning of April. They sent totally the wrong thing. Picking mistake, they were very sorry. Sent the parts back at my expense! Phoned a couple of times - stock expected this week etc. Got them finally delivered yesterday. They are obviously used. No invoice. No reimbursement for the postage. No note to apologise for the delay. Nothing. And to boot when i look at them with the van im not sure i like them now! Perhaps cos there tainted by the :censored: customer experience.
    no swearies please-love Dog x

    Apologies :-[

  4. Parts. Don't get me started. Why do I always get sent the inferior make? And another thing, whenever I order just half a dozen or so parts, just small bits, nothing major, I look at the total bill, plus VAT and postage and all I feel is totally ripped off. Last week I held a small bag of screws and bolts up to a mate of mine and said 'guess how much this little bag cost?'. He reckoned about 20p and was quite shocked when I said 50 quid. It's typical of every single part I've had to buy. Bloody rip off these classic VW or repro parts and I'm getting really fed up with it. A hundred quid here and another hundred quid there, just for little bits, has amounted to 1000s. Total rip off!

  5. I feel your pain, silly prices for little bits. Don't buy repo because it really means poor quality.

  6. Whats the etiquette for naming and shaming? Obviously its fair to give the other party the right to reply which is why ill tell them that i feel it appropriate to share my :censored: customer experience on the internet.

What parts are they out of interest?

  8. If you're after nuts, bolts & stuff, finding a decent fastener supplier is well worth doing.

I replaced a lot of the crusty bolts on my van during restoration, and they were ridiculously cheap if you're not buying from the main VW suppliers. A big bag of stuff I needed was typically six or ten quid.

If you're around Camberley, AHC on the A30 are excellent...

  9. Ah well :-[

Just called them again and they guy was very sorry and explained the reason the parts have a pre used look and apologized that this wasnt made clear. He offered to refund the cost of the parts and send a replacement part.

So all in all a favorable outcome but could have been a bit quicker. Will have to see if im in love with them more now :)

As Snotty says find a local fixings emporium. Theres near where i work in Hinckley. Big bags of stuff for next to nothing when paying cash

    So what were the parts?

The reason I ask is this:

I would expect a pair of pants to be completely new, never tried on for size etc. I would expect a pair of trousers to probably have been tried for size by several people. (Think window seals / set of points = pants, = trousers)

  11. and ok guys, when (many many years ago) i was sent twice the parts i"d ordered/paid for, i had to think about it and return the excess , (the poss. of bad karma freaked me out!!!) i did send/paid for upfront, parts only to have delivered an empty parcel, you really would not beleive the hassle on phone to supply co. i did give up eventually ! note;stuff i"m refering to happened years ago and was when i was a biker, so no disrespect to bus parts retail outlets(ok, £10 to post a regulator to me?)oh please!!!!

  12. In this case its wing mirrors. Which to my mind falls in pants category.

Yeah agree with postage. Cost me 1/2 as much to post back than i was charged.

  13. Don't get me started on parts please, I've just spent a fair old bit on parts for the pick up, engine, gearbox, suspension steering etc a lot of so called best quality and it's crap I reckon a good 40% of it I've had to modify to fit or just leave it in the bag.
Most it's not worth sending back because of the postage costs..
I like to try and order from one person but they didn't have all in stock so had to go to 3 different companies.
