an ex student of mine used to, i can ask him stuff if you want? the chap in my local halfords always beats their online prices and some for me. Got waxoyl t'other week, should've been £29.99 and he let me have it for £22 (i tried for £18 but he said i was pushing it then! )
Surely the question should be "does anyone work in Halfords"... every time i go in they look so under motivated and workshy!
I tried to get a job in Halfords but was told i was too qualified as apparently I know some stuff about cars and have an IQ higher than 50. ;D
Never worked for Halfords, like most retailers some staff are good and some not so. or are you looking at their tyres, exhaust etc repair section? Regardless best of luck for Mrs P's interview next week and your job search
WHS I applied for a post of fitter (the guy who fits the lightbulbs, wiper blades, radio etc) The application was done all online with multiple guess questions about customer service and appearance not a single question about cars or experience. I didn't get the job I saw the guy who got it (looked about 12) trying to fit a wiper blade the other day i laughed as the arm sprung back and smashed the back window.
Read a review of that Co. in The Sunday Times last week ,if you are applying for an instore position ,advise you beef up on all things high end cycling and cycling clobber, that is their "big push" for the coming 2 years ,they so want a slice of that massssive market and are gearing (<good ,eh?) up for a major attempt to achieve same.Knowledge is (impressive)power, good luck with your app.
My God, this old Worth mentioning that typically in retail (my son used to work for Next), they generally have such a high turnover of staff that they don't make much of an investment in you until until you've been there a while. Everyone starts at the bottom (the stockroom, normally), but if you show you're reasonably sane and reliable, you can you up the ranks pretty quickly.
