has anybody been? My family (mum, sister & niece) are Harry Potter mad and I wondering whether it would make good birthday presents?
The Leavesden studios where Harry potter world is based ,started life as WW 2 airfield and later became the Rolls Royce helicopter engine factory , until all the machine tools were sold of to Indian company's. Thought that might help ,as for Harry Potter ,not my cup of tea
I have to confess!!! I've been!!! My eldest is 8 so she loves the films and so I was ordered by her indoors to sort tickets after a press release on 'Day Break'. Anyway to cut a long story short it was a great day and I really enjoyed it!!! Scary I know!! I've never even watched a complete film or even touched one of the books!! My advice is to get some tickets! And enjoy!!!
secondhand reccomendation but it made me want to visit. Another home ed mum took her kids and they all loved it - it sounds really exciting. bek

A lovely place to visit in the van maybe is Banburgh Castle on the Northumberland coast. That's where they filmed all the 'Hogwarts' parts. (That's if your Niece enjoys camping...there's a lovely site nearby).
Went there years ago along with Lindesfarne, would definately like to go back! Both me & Michelle want to do the studio tour, would be well worth it!
We're going in October and I can't wait!!! My friend in work is going on Saturday though so I will be cross questioning her about it all ^-^
Mrs Mabel and the Mabelette are going Monday week - not my cup of tea. watched the films, done the universal islands of adventure ride but never read the books
Never read the books, watched 1 of the older films, but never really got into it to be honest, one of my friends absolutely loves all the HP stuff though, she's been to the tour and said it was really good, she enjoyed it so I'm sure your neice will too Enjoy and take lots of piccys x
