Oh no - so sorry to hear about your dad - a friend of mine was killed when his jet trainer crashed in North Wales about 1965.
Yay! I'm not much of a winter person as I just seem to spend most of my time cycling to and from work in the dark and rain.
Next year's is on the 22nd, which happens about every four years - last one on the 22nd was 2019. Very rarely it can occur on the 20th or 23rd.

Julian calendar, Gregorian calendar etc, pick your choice, but the sun picks it's own time and I'd rather celebrate this event at 21.48 this evening rather than some other hijacked festival that drags on forever .... PS I do hug trees.....
