Anyone know who supplies a "handbrake cable shortener" supplier. Or what they might be called for an eBay search. I need to tighten the clutch cable and can't face yet another trip under the van in such an awkward position! Under the pedal itself is much more accessible
Drive up onto a camping leveller wedge to get a bit more height instead of faffing with jacks. Especially if its lowered to the point where your stomach rubs the oil off the sump.. And you can buy wire rope clamps in yacht chandlers or wire fence suppliers if you need to cut and shorten things drastically. Like somebody on youtube who put inverted Bay Window rear brake drums and handbrake cables on a Splitscreen dual cab and ended up with several inches too much ..
If you somehow manage to magically shorten the cable, you'll still have to adjust it at the gearbox end . Take a deep breath and get under there!
