Just to add to the points made already, This can happen when the lacquer is broken and they use a harsh bug shifter, it gets under the lacquesr and peels it straight off. Ive also known them use alloy wheel cleaner to remove bugs which strips it off big style. A pressure washer would have to be used carelessly to do that sort of damage. If there is not a disclaimer posted somewhere then youre in with a chance of some compensation. They've already accepted some degree of responsibility by offering to rectify it for you but I wouldnt let them arrange the paint repair without you approving it. Keep calm, be assertive and if all else fails, park the car outside there place and put a big sign on it saying this is the damage they have caused. Good luck
This one is be fuddling me !sign says Hand car wash , but DOESN"T mean it"s not automated? , no , car hand wash means , car will be washed , by a human , using a , perhaps sponge or similar, holding it in his/her hand , the clue is on the sign outside the premises.
Result : boss phoned me today- seeking pictures. He has since admitted liability, car is booked into a known bodyshop tomorrow for repair at his expense.
Every hand car wash I've ever used uses a pressure washer. The "it says handwash" argument won't work in court.
