Guy Martin's new TV series...have you seen it?

  1. Its a good programme indeed, the dog poo made me laugh "why are you moving away"

  2. I like Guy Martin and I liked the series on the canal boat, but this one really annoyed me with the constant references to 'graft' and 'grafters' etc. Not enough interesting stuff and too much sitting round saying 'graft'. I lasted 10 minutes of the first one and gave up. Anyway, he should concentrate on actually winning a TT race, not making telly. I think I'm probably in a minority (hopefully not falling foul of the contentious comments ban here).

  3. have you seen the TT film, TT:3D? Guy is basically at the heart of it and it's amazing and funny at the same time. Guy is a young Fred Dibner who gets his jollies from racing bikes rather than climbing steeples/chimneys and advertising double glazing.

I do like his current telly output as he does put into context that there are a number of jobs on the world that are actually hard work. being of Irish decent myself it is interesting to see some context for the word Navvy. which when I was a lad meant lowly manual worker. Those boys had a hard life.
at least Guy is giving some idea of what work felt like for so many back in the day.

  4. Yes, and always watch all of the TT coverage. This series just seemed to start off a bit scripted, not really my thing. I work in heavy engineering and have done the work myself, so I'm more interested in information than the rose tinted stuff.

  5. yes. loved the boat one last year and have seen a bit of this one.
really interesting, love his accent (it's like going home) and he's very easy on the eye ;)

  6. great bit of TV
