Hi guys, Can anyone tell me what fits in the hole to the left of the gear stick, (bottom in this pic), and also at the base of the handbrake, (just visible to the left of the handbrake in the pic), to stop the water coming up through? I've trawled the usual sites and searched for different variations on grommets, seals etc but am getting fed up... What are they called please?
Lol, I spent most of Sunday evening trying to find the specific bits for the holes but said to the wife, 'F&*^ it, I'm just going to get some filler in them'. Great minds...great minds
Shouldn't have water coming up through them if the front belly pan's there. I'd stick a normal grommet in the hole, if it bothers you. I don't think later Bays had any seal around the handbrake slot, apart from the rubber floor mat.
Get yourself a step drill and an assorted pack of blind grommets, just make the hole the right size to fit a standard grommet. Some will already be the right sizes.
There are pre cut holes in the floor pan so that ze Germans can make a left or right hand drive. Have you noticed how the pressings of the panels have reliefs for everything. One press fits all. Saves money innit
