I recently replaced the front right wheel bearings as they were rumbling. It may just be coincidence but I now have a grating sound which sounds like it’s coming from the right side when I do a slow left turn. I thought it must be the backing plate catching on the disc, but it doesn’t seem to be. I’ve also checked the speedo cable though that’s on the left. The bung had come loose, but it’s back in but no difference. This has caused a similar noise in the past. I can’t find anything rubbing. Straight ahead driving and right turns don’t cause a noise. Has anybody got any ideas?
Also rear drum backing plates .. And tyres rubbing on mudflap brackets if fixed inside the front wheel arch..- the inner tyre edge swings back a bit as the front wheel pivots. My setup just rubs a bolt head with new tyres.. but its not a standard install..
WIFE, mine grates on me sometimes Move over your to close to the kerb, Slow down, I should fit a radio
Just a thought, if you’ve modified your front suspension, it’s possible with a little wear that ball joints have enough slop in them to allow a bit of rubbing on the inner edge of the wheel rim, might be worth a look. Ozziedog,,,,,,,, guess who had this happen
