  1. I'm afraid the beloved vw EOS my wife has wanted for years and actually got about 3 months ago has to go. It leaks water through the roof( yes when its closed b4 you start Rick ;))
I mean it persists in. Tried the special spray for it but its a joke, soaking wet seats.

So, going to look at at '54 golf gt tdi, 55k, 2.o 140bhp 6 speed. Any good guys?

  3. Turbo overboost fault has been commonly reported (faulty car was in at Lincoln VW when I was in there the other week). Overboost is read (seems to be a variety of possible reasons) so engine loses all power and goes to limp home mode. The one in at Lincoln was new turbo required - £1,500. Make sure to test under heavy acceleration and preferably get it on a diagnostic rig with a specialist to check the memorised codes as the fault clears after switch off / switch on.

I think the old PD 1.9 litre is generally better regarded for reliability than the 2.0.

  6. cheers for reply's guys.

We took the plunge today, two garages wouldn't touch us because they had heard of the leaking roof problems, but we found one that was happy to p/x. So its done.

pick up the golf next thursday. :)

Electric windows are problematic too. This all started in the Mk3 and went into the 4's too.

  8. If you're going for a Mk 6 - do it. I've got a 2.0 GT TDI 140, and it's super.
