I'd go along with Nigel on that - couldn't see why the Hollywood one had to mess about with the ending so much :(

  6. When you have seen that watch the other
The girl wno played with fire

  7. the original is brilliant but some of the scenes are graphic in a way that stays with you for a long time, the books are fantastic

  8. Stays with you a long time ,yes they do

  9. Original with subtitles is definitely the best version, but still doesn't come close to being as good as the books.

  10. A mate of mine chucked the book in fright when he read scary bit . and at the same point in the film a bloke chucked his beer up in the air , the funny thing was you knew what was going to happen ,but it still made me jump

We enjoyed the Swedish film, but as said, not as good as the books. Don't know what it is with films of books, I know the film makers use that get out of jail line, "Based on the book by...........), and the amount to which they base the film on the book varies widely. About A Boy is on at the mo, great book, mildly disappointing film, while High Fidelity was both a great book and great film. Notes On a Scandal, totally rivetting read they really stretched the "Based on" bit. Anyway, the film is good, not seen the Daniel Whathisface one and its not on our to see list either.

  15. I loved the original ones with subtitles, I thought the casting was superb. The reporter was just the right mix of strangely ugly but really attractive at the same time. Not sure that Daniel Craig will be the same mix. I don't think they should've remade it, the original was excellent, I watched the other two immediately after

Watch it and enjoy it for what it is, never saw the original or read the book but enjoyed this.
