You're everywhere and nowhere baby, that's where you're at Going down a bumpy hillside, in your hippy hat Flying across the country, and getting fat Saying everything is groovy, when your tires are flat

I can honestly say I have never really listened to the lyrics or to what the artists were trying to convey in songs but last week whilst driving through a run down area where there used to be lots of industry when I was a teenager an old song by Erasure came on the radio (The Circus) and the lyrics felt poignant to me; Father worked in industry Now the work has moved on And the factory's gone See them sell your history Where once you were strong And you used to belong There was once a future For a working man There was once a lifetime For a skillful hand yesterday
Hell yeah! (Apart from the really awful er...what was it, rapping, toasting? by someone or other on their version of Take A Chance On Me......spoiled a great record of you aks me)
I blame you lot, I am now having an evening with Vince Clark Plenty of genius lyrics on this one. "Who do yer fink has it? It's *****ing distorting"
Personally I blame @Louey. Because of his radio broadcast I have listened to sheds load of Heart, ELO, Yazoo, Alison Moyet, Erasure, Japan, Fleetwood Mac, Depeche mode, Ultravox and a compilation of the best of the 70’s (I do love Donna Summer)

It's a fancy Mobile Fidelity pressing, so probably is made for the American market. So did they call themselves "Yaz" in America? I wasn't aware of that, if they did?
Only just found this thread - how come I didn't see it last year - anyway my favourite all lyric is Bob Dylan - it goes something like this ... "... If you could stand one time in my shoes ..and just for that moment I could be you then you would know what a drag it is to see you....."
You can choose from fantom fears or kindness that can kill. I will choose a path that's clear. I will choose free will. Guess who
Out on the tar plains, the glides are moving All looking for a new place to drive You sit beside me so newly charming Sweating dewdrops glisten freshing your side And the sun drips down bedding heavy behind The front of your dress, all shadowy lined And the droning engine throbs in time With your beating heart Way down the lane away, living for another day The aphids swarm up in the drifting haze Swim seagull in the sky towards that hollow western isle My envied lady holds you fast in her gaze And the sun drips down bedding heavy behind The front of your dress, all shadowy lined And the droning engine throbs in time With your beating heart And the sun drips down bedding heavy behind The front of your dress, all shadowy lined And the droning engine throbs in…
