Should the spigot/pin on the ball of the gearstick be removable? Have just dismantled and cleaned all the components and the pin and spring have come out of the ball - the edging around where the head of the pin sit seem to have worn or eroded slightly which may be the cause of the problem. Do I need to buy a new gearstick? No welding equipment available Cheers
The pin and spring are indeed meant to come out If the pin and the ball are worn theres a good chance the cup will be aswell Without welding the worn material back into it your only other option is to replace it with new
