This happens all of the time with house sales. There’s absolutely no requirement to have a gas safety inspection on a private dwelling. It’s your house so it’s up to you if you don’t bother having your boiler serviced. But increasingly I’m being asked to produce a “home owner gas inspection “ by solicitors of prospective house purchasers. Even though there’s absolutely nothing in law to say this needs to happen to sell a house. So there is actually a certificate I use for something that has absolutely not legal basis. It’s just paperwork for the sake of it. Solicitors, estate agents, letting agents, they all absolutely love a form or a certificate. Gets them proper excited.
I believe there are British Standards about this. Mentions it here https://www.justkampers.com/jkblog/...mation-for-campervans--motorhomes-123/?id=123 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It says If you’re installing gas appliances into your campervan, then sticking to the British Standards isn’t mandatory, unless you’re going to be hiring that vehicle out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That`s the way its always been** , you can happily fit gas appliances to your own vehicle and blow youself up but you can`t blow anyone else up .... **Things MAY have changed ...
Ok so I thought I’d check the Engineers Qualification page for you. Basically our cards have a list of codes on them that list every category of work. it would seem that to rent out your camper you will need an LPG gas safety certificate as essentially you are a landlord and also the person undertaking the inspection will need the Leisure Vehicle qualification. To be honest your best best is just to phone gas safe and get the correct answer from them. This is the list of work categories
Has to be carried out by an approved workshop. It’s certainly a way of getting the owner to pay for the warranty. You get a nice check-list and a bill for about £200.
I think it's just something to use as a bargaining tool. E.G. "Your boiler is knackered so I want 5k knocked off the price".
What - same as domestic energy efficiency certificates Another pointless excersise... Don't rent anything out is the easy answer - it's been done to death on here , do a search @Robereedo Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk
Depends on how many caravans you do to make it worthwhile If I remember correctly there is an Lpg ticket for blown air heating I remember my heating engineer mate had to do this because We had three Fitted in the statics He had to do it because the Lpg combi one doesn’t Cover them
I refuse to do the warm air ticket. I’d rather give up then spend my days in Luton arguing with some scum bag landlord that his thirty year old warm air heater is unsafe. Whilst it happily blows CO out of every vent in the house and his tenants have permanent head aches.
