Has anyone chosen what songs they would like at their funeral? Just found out an interesting fact about one of the songs I want to have at my funeral ( hopefully not for a good while yet!) The song is "Smile though your heart is breaking" apparently it was written, words and music, by Charlie Chaplin! I'm determined to make attendees cry My dad did some proper year jerkers for my mums funeral! Tho had this ace one as the carry the coffin in song
i have chosen two and made some plans , but they will be kept secret till i pass on , the envelope is sealed
This was played at my dads funeral I havent got to the point of thinking about mine yet apart from a want to be buried not burnt
I went to a funeral once and this was played as the curtains closed and the coffin went off along the conveyor belt at the crematorium:
I'd go for "Something in the air" by Thunderclap Newman - one of my faves, love it. Or "Hold your head up" by Argent.
we had a big discussion for my father in laws funeral. we played the theme music from last of the summer wine which in the end did lighten the mood, our daughter though brought tears to everyone's eyes when she read a eulogy for the service but then again they where very close and he helped her in so much with her life. i now have big boots to fill now i have a grandaughter to look after, i just hope she feels the same about me as she did about him.. can't wait for her to be old enough to underseal the van or fit the foam in the engine bay..........................
Funny thing is, other Elgar stuff I've heard is pretty dull. With "Nimrod" he absolutely nails it... Or "An Olive Grove Facing the Sea". Belting
