having had loads of trouble getting bus running, found out it was the exit pipe from bottom of tank, all crushed/falling apart, question is.. has anyone replaced the exit pipe? the replacement part on all of the usual suppliers, states it fits beetles/bus etc etc, but mine doesn't have a bolt at the bottom of tank, just wondering if anyone had trouble fitting one of the repair parts,
Yes you might just consider getting a short piece of copper or steel pipe and brazing it in. I did it with plumber's solder and it was fine, though braze would be stronger.
