Fuel Tank 1978 Bay window

  1. Hi new forum member that's looking for a replacement fuel tank for a 1978 Bay. I know that these are not produced, but maybe somebody knows of a 1 off fabricator of these tanks or a professional cleaned restored tank available to buy.

Failing this I have the chance to clean the tank myself, any tips and advice or products to use would be most grateful. Personally I would replace but always good to have a back up plan.

    Kind Regards

  2. You can clean them out and put some sort of paint on the in side to seal it if that makes sense.
I tool my tank out and filled it with water to check it then checked for holes , found one and just welded it up the. Tested it again

  3.
  4. I used a kit from Frost to clean and line my tank, though in the end I used acid to clean it after using the marine clean as there were still some stains inside,
Over all it worked really well.

  5. Depends how bad the tank is even with a clean is second hand tank it still may be worth protecting it

  6. I have a really good one that I'll sell for £50. Let me know if your interested postage would be about £20 any more & I'll cover it so £70 delivered. :)
