If the old one fits, use it , or Sikaflex up the gap. It looks more like the wrong part than a badly fitting correct part .. we have seen this last week, but the fit was better. Its rubber .. you can throw it as hard as you like over the fence..
If you've got your trannie out, worth whipping the nosecone off and changing the small ball in the shifter mechanism. It won't be in good shape.
