I couldn’t resist taking on these two frog-eye projects, despite having a few others on the go. The price was right and there’s still space in the shop. Just needed to move a few extraneous items out, like tools, work benches, etc. Never mind it’s one man show…and that I’m a little past my prime.
Love the frogeye Sprite - Tried to buy one in 1968 for £350 but it had gone before I got there - bought a Mk1 Midget instead = and MGs ever since
It’s quite the story on how I came to be the custodian of these two cars. I have a car magnet in my back pocket, I suppose. I’ll restore one and sell the other. The black frog-eye on the saw horses, now stored in a tent out back, was flood-damaged and previously dismantled. It still has the tags but no registration papers, which is too bad. Perhaps I’ll build it into a racer one day! My family thinks I’m nuts and they are probably right. Aren’t we all, to some degree? There is even a race track not far from our home…hmm
I restored a Midget back in 2015, it was a rubber bumper one that I converted to chrome bumpers. It cam as a half finished project with a solid shell and boxes of bits.
