  2. Today I have mostly put the wheels on, pulled it forwards with the car to get access to engine, tooken battery out and put on charge , cleaned out cab and cargo area, gone to gsf to buy a lovely rear o/s arch and bounced on the tramp. Oline. and put front grille back on. No photos yet because im incredibly slow and also spent time licking some windows! Now im going to work, off to Exeter and Plymouth and chat to anneka at 6am.

  4. Well battery is cock on, tickled her fancy a bit and got the old clunker fired up tonight and running (of sorts>!) Enough to get it out the garden and turn round ready for some rear arch action on Tuesday

Doesn't it look delicious. Well done davidoft. Now I just need to catch up and do some seam sealing, painting and weld in a few small ponce patches that are well within the realms of my (non) skills. Having got used to the spurt of speedy progress these last couple of weeks things will slow down while vacations take place and another spurt will occur after the middle of July.
    Thankyou for reading.

  10. Had a couple of hours on it over the last couple of days. Welded in a couple of tiny patches on seat tub, put rust converter on some erm rusty bits, primered the rest of the new metal and slopped on seam sealer all over those lovely welded joints

  13. I had a pokey proddy hour to see whats in store up my rear end, I was aware there was some crustiness to my rear chassis rails. After some vigorous action it appears the offside rear is ok, but the nearside is not

this is n/s bottom of d post (chassis rail to bottom, inner rear valance on right)

    Inner rear valance to n/s
    [IMG]

chassis rail from engine hanger to rear is so crappy, surprised my engine hasn't fallen off

OMG!!!!!!!, if I would have seen that to begin with I wouldn't have welded all the other stuff as its not worth fixing

  15. omg lols youre probs right. Just gonna compose an ad for the classifieds, project for sale ? £1000?? bag of sand? monkeys nut wrench? scrotal torsion? :easter:You love it babycakes, scream if you wanna go faster

  16. That is bad indeed

However dont lose the will to live just yet but do put your hopes and dreams for this year on hold

Pictures like that are the reason i go around the whole of a bus before agreeing to work on a bus
No wonder i do myself out of work so often

Dont get to down about it dude you have already hit the point of no return the only way is up from now on

Drop your engine and clean everything up then you will be able to see whats needed

My advice would be to have a good poke around the rear torsion tubes before dropping the engine

Continue inhaling paint and welding fumes, its working well ;) . Get your wire wheel on ya grinder and go over your rear end with it, it marts a little but adds enormously to the overall experience! . Wire wheel the chassis with you handsome face well out of the way, it doesn't look to bad to me. Pull out the big bit of rear engine tin and you will be able to see better, I don't think we need to pull the engine out :) unless you wanna just because

Ahhh I forgot I saw a bit on the drivers rear torsion tube, I have a section of chassis leg so somewhere, but I don't think it will be needed.

  19. Allows replacement of the fuel pipes/breathers etc which is a good thing in my book

Gives you chance to drop the box and replace the gear rod guides aswell
