Is it possible to have the worktop run from wardrobe in the back to over the cooker behind front seats in some sort of heat resistant material ? Found out ours wasnt so heat resistant last year and now tired of looking at the bubble the kettle created ....
Mine was similar, made out of lightweight wood effect plastic covered furniture board. I scraped that off and glued on some laminate then routed to shape and popped the edging back on.
That might be a better route if you can make one. The glue I used wasn't good and it's come off again a couple of years on.... so, don't trust spray on contact adhesive is my advice! @theBusmonkey was doing similar with brush on glue recently, he may have a good recommendation.
Theres plenty of folk on ebaay selling formica off cuts or to be honest a full 10x4 sheet can be as little as 60 quid. The range of designs and colours is mind boggling. As for the glue, you apply contact adhesive to both surfaces, let it tack off and stick them down, appling pressure with a roller or rag. The trick is to not go too heavy on the application. Less is more. About the best we can get for non commercial is Evostick 528. Screwfix, ebay etc good sources for that. Trim with a stanley blade and finish with a file. Sounds easy doesnt it ...
This reminds I need to get some Formica sheet as ruined a friends van worktop at Techenders after a mini stove/ kettle incident! On the lookout for an offcut rather than a full sheet.
