I used to be a fork lift driver I once had 6 weeks off work after squashing my foot with a reach truck
How did you manage that. You are supposed to sit on it. I once had mt wrist and lower arm in plaster due to RSI caused by gripping the steering knob on a reach truck. Was a lovely truck though. The control leavers were only about 4inches high.
I was on the truck outside in the yard talking to some workmates inside through a window. I was sat sideways in my seat with my leg hanging out and went to drive away quickly. Unfortunately cos I was sat crooked my foot went on fwd pedal instead of reverse! Luckily I had a tow pin so only bent my foot in half instead of squashing my whole leg. Luckily I also was wearing trainers instead of my steelies so didn't lose my toes . My supervisor also put it as a different accident in the book so I didn't get done! I had a bad limp for ages and had to plead with the army Dr to sign me back to work! Ps I preferred my hyster counter balance
I used to drive FLT and its surprisingly easy to make a mistake. But some of those are shocking tuesday_wildchild
When I was a builder we borrowed a farmers front loader thingy, I hadn't passed me car test long and never touch a split gearbox thing let alone driven. It was a fast learning curve and nearly demolished the gates to the house we were working on.
