Floor insulation

I am replacing my wooden floor.

What insulation should I put down, before laying the ply?

Plus I used 4 slot together foam mats bought from The Range for £9.99.

Genius! Just bought a pack. Although, mine is multi coloured

 

...just thought....are you using the Range matts as insulation under wood? Or as the final surface?

 

Covered with ply and then went back to 'The Range' (other shops are available!) and bought some of their carpet tiles that I fixed to the ply with double sided tape. That was two years ago and they're still there!!

 

Love this stuff!

Gonna get another pack to cut into the edges, and can always use the left overs on the inner walls.
