VW Camper 1976 Bay Window Devon Conversion. 2nd family to own from new.

    £18995

    Includes 1970’s canvas awning.

After 10 wonderful, fun filled years we are ready to see Flo go to a new owner for new adventures, so we can plan for future retirement adventures.

We are only the second family to own Flo from new, with 3 owners listed on Vehicle Licence, as she was registered to two different owners within the first family, the first registered owner being Devon. We’ll be sad to see her go but we’re ready.

Tax free. MOT free but we have annually had MOT tests for peace of mind. Last test carried out July 2021.

Flo underwent extensive body restoration and rebuild in 2013 with 81aVW Services, at a cost of £9,200 finished off with a full respray – VW colour Beryl Green L478. New JustKampers roof cap fitted. New door seals. Photos available of all work carried out at that time. Since then any minor rust breakthroughs have been repaired promptly. So she is in a very tidy condition (words of local VW engineer.)

Her engine was replaced with a ‘new’ reconditioned VW Engine Company engine in summer 2019.

Current mileage 25820, (once round the clock)
    Mileage at engine replacement 24530

Since Flo has been in our family we have had:

New complete exhaust system including a stainless steel tailpipe.

    New clutch

    New thermostat

    New engine bay seal

    New battery

    New starter motor

    New distributor

    New coil

New front brake callipers and pads

    Instrument panel refurbished

New Windscreen washer hose and jet

    New driveshafts

    New accelerator cable

New fuel line and fuel breather pipes

    New ignition switch and leads

    New heater tube

Interior headlining all replaced by Bromsgrove Trim Shop (previously known as Bromsgrove Auto Trimmers).

    New sun visors

    Regularly serviced.
Regular maintenance and repairs carried out as necessary.

Used regularly. Many holidays, days out and used as a wedding car for our daughter last year. She’s even been lived and worked in on the drive for a few weeks in Covid lockdown in order to quarantine in readiness for looking after a new grandchild.

3 rear seat belts, one fixed and one lap belt on main seat, one inertia reel belt on buddy seat.

Rock and roll ¾ bed, original 2 burner hob and grill. Sink still in situ but we’ve never used it and it isn’t plumbed in. Interior units are a mix of one original cupboard with rest being built in ply by previous family. Still perfectly usable and quirky, but Flo is a prime candidate for an interior refurb. The bed mattress cushions are original and damaged on the underside, but we’ve always had seats covered with crochet blankets and home made cushions for the look we were after. Original door cards so you may wish to replace. As with any old campervan, you will wish to put your own stamp on it.

New curtains by VW Camper Curtains in 2013. Full set of thermo window covers.

If you’re a previous VW owner, you’ll know the challenges of owning and keeping a 46 year old vehicle maintained. It’s always an ongoing project. If you’re new to it, make sure you are aware of this! But mostly be prepared for endless fun and that glorious feeling of driving along feeling like the cat’s whiskers!

Paperwork available for all work carried out.

    Questions welcomed.

£500 non refundable deposit required to secure. Balance payable by bank transfer cleared funds prior to collection.[IMG]
