Fitting awning to van

  1. i use neodymium magnets i my bus for lots of things. the only thing that concerns me about using them to hold awning in place is that they are strong enough to hold it but wind may make them slide out of the position you want (the fabric makes this easier).
i'd be interested to see if it works. the hooks are great too; clothes hooks wherever you want them in your bus :)

  2. Id rather have the magnets slide along the gutter during a storm than i would the pole that shook from its clamps tapping in the window all night whilst i needed a good night kip

I thought you were going in the bug to techenders hun?

  3. good point, may have to give it a go :)

was going too but thought it'd be best to save some money for new engine and the way my luck has gone this week i'm a bit nervous about taking the bug out. big decisions to make and not just the engine :/
also the cold nights have kept me away. still may pop over tomorrow but not to camp brr. used to camp with everything on my back but i'm far too used to my home comforts nowadays. :)

  4. Your just scared to come out of your comfort zone

I used to as you know cope with whatever it was i had to do in a variety of places whatever the weather conditions

I hated it because i HAD TO DO IT it was my job

However from the experiances i had in the variety of situations i encountered
I learnt very quickly that failing to prepare is preparing to fail
Also any idiot can be cold and un comfy but someone with slight depth of future thought can sleep like kings or queens to be pc

Knowledge weighs nothing kit weighs you down:thumbsup:

  8. Im glad to hear it hun
Did you have a good weekend?

  9. Those magnets sound cool - so many potential uses but as far as clipping the awning to the van I used to use the figure of 8 and found them no problem until that is the rotten gutter on my old bay started to peel away. Come to think of it, the Devon roof (older style) which wasn't properly fitted seemed to get in the way sightly. No such problems anticipated with my current van as the gutters are fine and no obstruction :)

  10. Brilliant! You should come in September be lovely to meet you and I think you'd really enjoy it :)
