I have just got hold of a set of Empi 5's for my camper. I have currently got standard steel wheels fitted. Can I use the same wheel nuts and studs or will I need to buy some new ones?
yep there specials not sure which ones though these sell emhttp://www.midlandwheels.com/?x=0&y=0&Query=wheel+nuts
you need tapered seating nuts for alloys (except porsche alloys) standard steel wheels are radius seating http://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Item/NA/AC601SN17B/ON_SALE_14mm_Tapered_Wheel_Nut.html these are what you need, on sale too
Thanks for the quick replies! I have a pic on my phone which i will try and get on the computer soon. I know they are made in the uk so I guess they are MWS ones, but i got them with good tyres for a bargain price! I need some centre caps too so it looks like they arent turning out to be as cheap as i thought...
Got my nuts from MWS - a quid each I think and got my centre caps off them too. Pretty sure they have MWS stamped or moulded on the rear.
center caps push fit? short for the front tall for the rears (to clear castle nut) http://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Search/0/ac60190.html or plastic screw on (5 screws) http://www.coolairvw.co.uk/Item/NA/AC601912/ON_SALE_Mark_2_Empi_5_Wheel_Centre_Cap_-OB-Screw_On-CB-.html
I always thought that standard steel nuts can't be used on alloys. So, if you're running 15'' alloys and carrying a 14'' steel spare, make sure you carry seperate nuts for the spare. That's what I though anyway, but maybe I'm wrong.
