The featured buses strip on the home page never changes. Would it not be nice to use the 'members by buses' thread and just scroll all members buses on there instead? It would be nice to see other buses from time to time and some are wonderful examples, and that doesn't just mean fully restored jobbys.
I've not been on the forum for ages other than use the iPhone and today I saw that when using a computer and thought something similar. Yes I think it is about time we had a change there.
No offence to the buses that are there but the forum is more than just those half dozen. Everyone here is what make this place what it is so it would be nice to advertise that, as such.
Not sure if I'm really that interested in having my bus put up against others in a vote as everyone's bus is different and what you have done to your bus may not appeal to other members but instead agree with others that it should feature all members buses equally as every single bus on here would get my vote simply for not being in the scrap yard! I shall get back in my box now, and I apologise for the outburst I think it stems from always being the last kid picked for any sport at school!
i think it needs refreshing i means some of the owners don't come on here any more and if they do they hardly post
I rarely view the forum online, usually on tapatalk bit when i do the featured rides are always the same. They are amazing but I'd like to see some new ones please Thanks
if it's possible a scrolling members buses thing would be great but don't want the site to crash again with the volume of images, would it mean that the home page would take longer to load?
Not sure if we're talking about 2 different things here...we've got 9 pics of different buses on the home page, just under the most recent posts bit, but only 6 of these are actually in the Featured Buses section, which has 10 buses in total, mine included and I'm grateful for the feature amongst some other very nice buses. Where are you guys getting 6 from? Personally, I'd like to see a scrolling selection of all buses across the top of the home page, and add more Featured Buses to the existing 10, we're not short of worthy candidates on here..
6. 10. - Apples and oranges. So I didn't count them, I just made an educated guess. It is the strip on the homepage that we are talking about here. In my opinion why does any one bus deserve to be there over others, for example why is your's better than mine? I think that the original idea probably was a good one - members vote for popular buses but it hasn't happened all the time I have been here, it's been the same 10 buses. As to it bringing down the site, unless the Admin crew have moved The Latebay over to a rubbish server then it will easily handle, what, a few hundred image's at the most scrolling. images take up hardly any space on a server and there are plenty of low memory scripts about to make it work.
Not sure if it's possible but could it be based on activity, if a member has been active in the last week or month even if its only a single post then their bus appears at the top of the home page... Just thinking out loud
