Fast indicator

  1. When breaking and indicating, the indicator goes crazy and indicates super fast.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

  2. oh,oh, i know this one!

(mine had a lose wire which kept giving the same issue)

  4. I had this when my bulb went - handy way to know its gone

  5. If it's not a blown bulb it will defiantly be a bad earth, had the same problem when breaking whilst indicating.spent a little time cleaning up all the earth points I could find which sorted the problem.

o/p says when braking indicator goes fast...therefore deduce indicastor is working ok when not braking.....therefore bad earth innit.

  9. Your indicators are being influenced by Planet X, which (as everybody knows) is hiding behind the Sun, waiting to kill us all. Cover your head with tin foil, and see if it still happens.

As above, you might check the earths (likely in the rear light clusters) while you're at it...

  10. A HA !!!!! thankyou for posting this rob and i have been living with alex doing this for 6 months

  12. Where on EARTH do I start looking for this bad EARTH. Our also has the added problem of the right indicator dashboard light not working?

  16. Okay I sent a few hours on this and no luck, I found that straightening the cables in the engine bay sorted the problem.
So I'm guessing it's shorting out, so I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and re-wire it :D

Don't think it should be that hard....

If you look in the back, close to where the rear light clusters are, you will see a couple of wires connected to the body via connectors. These are where the earths connect to the body from lights/indicators, clean the connectors up and re connect the wires & this should solve the problem (it did on the westy for us)
