Seems to be some confusion regarding the wiring on the wiper kit looms I've sold a few of. IGNORE THE WIRE COLOURS ON YOUR EXISTING MOTOR. They could be anything. Look at the table in the instructions, and connect the loom accordingly. Don't try to copy the old motor colours. See pic below. I should've emailed instructions to folk who bought them. If I forgot, let me know. You'll need them to be able to correctly align the new motor in the wiper mech. If misaligned, the wipers may park halfway up the screen, or (worse) try to wipe the front panel. Ta.
You must be joking I rang Snottys customer services dept to ask for a refund and a very rude man told me to go and …myself
This is because my double cab 79 isn't behaving. I connected the new motor up, following how the old motor was wired. See pic. But it worked as soon as I turned on the ignition and won't stop until its turned off. I contacted Rich for advice, and he said to follow instructions to wire it and sent me them, but when I checked, it was wired the same already. If I put the old motor back on, it works fine it's just a tad slow. So poor Rich is now going through wiring diagrams for an answer. I did suggest it could be a faulty new motor, and I have contacted the seller on eBay, but so far no response from them. Sent from my SM-G981B using Tapatalk
I'm on the case mate, just had tons to do - sorry. Unlikely to be the motor, but you can check it out by earthing the brown lead and dabbing 12V on pins 2 or 4 of the connector. Shoul run fast or slow.
WIPER PLUG FAUX PAS ALERT: Going cross eyed. Some folk with recent wiper kits will have two wires transposed on the wiper plug, causing wipers to go barmy. From the top of the new wiper motor plug, the colours should run: blue/red/yellow/green brown, as per instructions. On some, I've swapped the red and blue, so that red is at the top. This is wrong. If your loom is like that, just swap over the red and blue connections to the main loom socket: red to black/grey cable, blue to black/yellow cable ie the opposite of the instructions. Wipers should work fine after that. Pic below, courtesy of Fordingbridge Wiper Services ("A Song, a Smile and a Small Shrubbery"), shows the correct wiper plug wiring.
Eeeee I don't know! Just been and checked and mine is the 'red at the top ' version so I've marked them with the ammendment. I've got the parts (loom and motor) just not got a round tuit yet. Many thanks to the CEO of the aforementioned Fordingbridge Wiper Services and can't wait for the "Song, smile and small shrubbery ". Best regards from the Meltman.
