FAO The Wilmas

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by baygeekster, Jul 8, 2012.

  1. Just had a look at the back of my bus after our discussion about mudflaps. There is no mud inside my rear bumper, and there is no mud in the rear quarters under the battery trays, it all got caught by my rear mudflaps, so whichever one of you (I think it was Julie?) I was talking to about mudflaps, definitely worth getting a pair. I felt for you when I saw what had happened to the rear of your newly painted bus in the mud.

  3. Cheers Ian. It took me 40 minutes and £9 to get the mud from the underside of the van. The worst place was the rear corner and rear arches as they both have a lip on the inside that was hellish to access. I used a jet wash with a non-bendy hose and so ended up having to squeeze my thankfully skinny arm between the tyre and the rear arch to scoop out the huge chunks of mud before rinsing with water. I have bruises on my forearm now.

    mud flaps

How do they fasten onto the van?

that looks weird..... mine had mud inside the bumper too but not sprayed up the back, i have beetle mudflaps too but i mounted mine away from the arch purely for show so in effect they don't actually do anything but i didn't get that spray pattern up the back, i know what you mean about taking ages to clean, luckily i have a pressure washer but it took me ages and the road outside my house resembled Glastonbury afterwards.
