Facebook and work..

  1. Phil I hope it all goes well for you mate .
    I'm sure it's not a very nice experience :(

  2. hope it all works out for you.

i have two fb profiles; one sanitised, rarely used 'work' one where i can add colleagues, t'other my real one with friends on - even on that one it's never directly work related. I set up the work profile when we had a boss who insisted on adding everyone as her friend - it was clear that if you didn't you were 'not to be trusted'. to be on the uber safe side i block anyone from work from my real fb profile. My personal business has nothing to do with work and i like to keep it that way.

  5. The problem is most employers have a social network policy. So just like the workplace. If you make a comment about a colleague thats offensive or a comment that puts the buisness into disrepute then yes you can face action from your employer. Iam on facebook, but dont mention work, thats the sensible option. Its a sign of the times.

  7. I left FB and now have a ghost account which I use a bit like twitter to follow bands and business - but no people.

I like not knowing what people are doing.

Hi dan, just having a coffee before work

  9. Facebook is Evil, the breaker up of so many marriages and lost countless people their job. I'm on there but I vary rarely post, just use it to send messages to a few friends on there.

Big companies employ PIs to troll through FB and twitterr to find out about job candidates.

The wife was watching the Lloyd webber thing last night and he made a comment to one about him spending more time twittering backstage than rehearsing. Have a guess what went out las night.

  11. Strangely enough, we are all encouraged to talk about our business on Facebook, it's great advertising. Mind you, this will no doubt only last until someone posts something bad...

Fortunately, the work force for the most part seem very happy here!
