There used to be a fair few busses like that years ago Normally with the filter housing hanging by cable ties from the engine bay ceiling I presume it’s one of those thing people did just to get on the road but then never got round to sorting it properly. It’s madness adding extra heat into the cool zone
I don't think it either here or there. That heat normally would be in the engine and it's not like an exhaust, it's 100 degs only.

Yes, it does, so oil flows from the pump through the filter then into the case. Either a bypass pump cover, or have the case modded as in my pics.
You think its a "cool zone" ? When it got to 37C last summer, the air at the top of the carburettor intake was at 46C for a while....then as it was that hot, the thermo vacuum switch started leaking and then the air intake temperature ramped up to 65C in a runaway as the vacuum flap pulled to hot and stayed there, because the thermo switch was only slightly leaking. I ended up pulling the hose off, blocking it off at the time . And later replacing the valve with an electric thermostat and an EGR vacuum actuator control valve..
Its interesting to note that the CSP aluminium pulley that I have is very slightly smaller than stock. A new 900mm belt fits nicely with 3 or 4 alternator shims with the aluminium pulley, new 911mm belt needs 1 or 0 shims. With a stock steel (new Brazilian wobbly) pulley, two more shims in both cases.
There are places there that also get pretty hot - the hot air dump from the front of the heat exchangers and the oil cooler exhaust makes the area round the front of the engine hot in slow traffic too.
Liking the idea of the hydraulic hose but after doing some research is rated for around 100'C is this suitable? what kind of oil temp can we expect?
If you go to AFS you can buy Cohline 2743 : 150C rated oil hose, which is internally reinforced to be more than adequate for engine oil pressure. ( 30 bar ) Thats more expensive. https://cohpro.com/product-category...oil-hose/high-temperature-oil-hose-2733-2743/ Beware there is at least one stainless braided hose that has an unreinforced rubber hose and uses the external braiding to take the pressure. A hard pressed engine can reach 120C oil temperature in normal use, 130C if something is wrong.
The hydraulic hose supplier should be able to offer properly swaged end fittings on oil hose. Jubilee clips and other screw clamp arrangements can suffer from leaks and incorrect clamping leading to messy events.
Yes I highlighted the temp that can been reached so he has used supersonic house that can reach 200+, I did imagine the mesh by a failed jubilee clip cruising down the road. So thanks for the heads up don't think I would of thought of using hydraulics place, should be ready in next hour ready for installation later and then taking a mallet to the exhaust.
It's a bit of to and fro, but worth the effort. You'll look at frayed hose and jubilee clips with distain.* *Here I have to admit mine is done with clips.
I now use the shineeey stainless steel T-bolt clamps as they look the biz.. have rounded edges and grip all round without pinching. And you use a socket spanner to do up the clamp instead of fiddling with screwdrivers.
Fitted the mount and new lines (Teflon) 500C'+ so no problem with heat. Just fired her up had a slight leak but sorted now. Nice an neat and easy to fit well worth it.
