We saw it on Wednesday I don't think we've laughed so much at a movie in a long time I'm a life long Muppet fan and this was a proper return to their old-school form The soundtrack is fantastic too *disclaimer - if you've not seen the original The Muppet Movie from 1979 you should see that first
We were at FACT in Liverpool last weekend, and it was a toss up between the Muppet movie, and Martha May Marcey Marlene, both highly recommended by Mark Kermode on Simon Mayo's show....We went for Martha May etc..... Very intense and not exactly a mirth fest, but very very good. We'll go and see the Muppet movie as soon as we get a free evening. We must love those cheerfull films though, we're watching Tyrannosaur tonight ;D
If you can watch/download the original Muppet Movie first, it makes the second one more followable, e.g. the reference to the "Rich and Famous Contract" and Fozzy's version of the "Rainbow Connection" song.
We saw it last night and brought our 8 year old daughter along as a cover story for wanting to see it. It is a lovely happy film and definitely worth a look. It is good fun spotting the cameo appearances too e.g. Dave Grohl on drums of the Moopets cover band that Fozzi was performing with.
