Glad to hear you got sorted. Just picked up on this thread and it was looking like a right head scratcher. Just goes to prove that you need to consider every variable, had all the hallmarks of an electrical problem. Twin carbs then?
Don't know what it was contaminated and funnly enough it is not twin carbs, explain that one?? However running fine still after another trip today.
