Hello I have two questions regarding my 1972 bus. I have bought a bus from Utah USA. It has No engine or transmission. I know is Was "born" With a 1700 cc engine. But the transmission should that be 5 Rip trans? I have the parts for 2,0 type 4 but The engine Was meant for my bug so it has type 1 cooling.... Will it fit in My bus With type 1 cooling?
simple answer,, no.. the two engine's are different, you need type 4 tins, and as baysearcher says, 3 rib box on a 1700
Should fit with type 1 cooling ?..although the fan is smaller so it will not cool properly and may need a few other mods . Usually to covert to upright cooling they use the Porsche fan
