The fuel pump looks new, are you sure the push rod is the correct length? Sorry if that's been said already.

  6. Yeah it is, double checked when I bought it

  8. That’s where the breather line goes.. it’s not on at the moment as I was taking everything out

What breather line is that? If tank, that's wrong as it will draw air through continuously into the manifold. It should feed the thermostatic have on the air filter which is a dead end circuit so doesn't draw air through into the manifold.
However, it's a small hole in the scheme of things, I'm not suggesting it's the main cause of your problems.
As it runs on easy start which combusts easily, but not fuel then maybe your timing is out? How are you setting that?

  10. If it spits but won't run it sounds like your plug leads are the wrong way round - I've done that a few times.

IIRC the leads look in the correct position for an SVDA, but not for the 009 type fitted which is 90 deg different in one direction or the other. That of course also depends on the distributor drive being correctly orientated.

  13. Make a mark how your distributor is set up, then try to retard or advanced it a bit.

  14. The person before me marked it, I’ve tried doing what you recommend while someone was turning it over. Had no luck

  15. Try another coil?
    New ones are Marmitety.

I (and my son), checked, double checked and triple checked the distributor and lead orientation, when trying to start his Herald ….. guess what my mechanic mate came down, moved things around and it burst straight into life!
What I’m saying is, the consensus is that it’s electrical…. you’ve lots of new bits…..just start again with the distributor/ lead positioning… sometimes you convince yourself that what’s wrong is actually right.

  18. This. Is that connection open to the atmosphere? If so, your engine will never start/run properly.

As @Zed said, that line goes to feed the vacuum actuator on the air filter. Nothing to do with the tank breathers.

  19. I’m wondering if my ignitor has blown..

Just sat down and clearly looked at everything. Pulled everything off and re put them back on

Not sure how to check that… replace with points and condenser?
If that doesn’t work, I’d pull of the rocker cover and get no.1 cylinder to tdc and then re-do distributor, for the sake of your own sanity.
