300 WAAAY too flash for me ... 190 it is ... Saw good one in 1991 (when I was still a "yuppie") going for £10,000, but I bottled it. £100,000 plus now it seems Did see a restored shell with a pile.of bits (complete possibly) for £80,000 but still, that's way past MY bedtime ...... Someone else could have had the engine for their project
I thought they might have. I was just "bullying" @Poptop2 as he was already verbally self-harming so I thought I'd stick the boot in with a facetious remark Would have been kinder to point out the lack of "shark vents" behind the front wheel arch ...
You might need to know a bit of background here. Check out my previous torturers. They’re all on the other channel now!
Hope not ... Trying to "be aware" and turn it around ..... BUT definitely have compassion fatigue for good.
Love this stuff! Had a quote in 2014 from Rebbl to change the bus to electric. It would have cost about £21,500 just for the hardware - without fitting, for a 100 mile range so unless anyone wants a type 4 motor for £20k that's not going to happen. It's only going to be a question of when rather than if, our VWs and all other IC powered cars are banned from city centres, leaving only ULEVs allowed so it may be the way to go when prices start to become more equal to major engine work. I still have the quote (the firm has gone out of business if anyone's interested. TBH most of it doesn't make a lot of sense to me as I'd also need a full set of idiot proof instructions to put it together.
Back on topic. The kit is £1800 without batteries. Snottski kind of asked the question, but didn’t quite make it into serious mode, does it have to have modern lithium ion batteries or can you use a bank of standard batteries. I only ask as it seems a viable option if ordinary batteries can be used!
Standard lead-acid batteries would be ridiculous - the thing would weigh a ton and have very little range. It would be a milk float.
