Hi I’m toying with the idea of fitting an electric (automatic) aerial on my bus..I find them kinda cool and was wondering if any of you guys have ever tried to make one to fit?..if so which ones to looking for? Cheers Arek Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Because of the motor & drive part of the aerial being bulky they don’t lend themselves to fitting on a vertical panel. More suited to wing mounting.
^this. Hard to think where you’d put one on a Bay. There’s a lot of motor sticking out the bottom. In my experience in the past, after a while they just seize up anyway, so not really worth it.
I have one and it’s worked fine for more than 10-years. Unfortunately there is no longer a record on eBay of the original purchase but I’m reasonably sure it was this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric...uxhall&hash=item545fdd0e50:g:fmQAAOSwEflfpMwD Both the outer panel and inner brace need to be drilled and I remember modifying a hole saw, so it worked backwards, and pulling it up through the outer panel because there was no space underneath for the drill.
Alongside the A-post. I’ve had one on the Bay for more than ten years and on the MGB for nearly twenty years. Spray some dry lube on the mast every now and again and they don’t seize up.
..that looks nice and neat..I think I give it a try..thanks for the link Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
